Cincinnati's Le Dîner en Blanc is quickly approaching! The second annual event takes place next weekend, September 7th. I am so excited that I will be able to attend this year! Over 1,700 people have registered at the "invite-only" affair. The grandest picnic in the world started a quarter of a century ago in Paris and has spun internationally to cities everywhere. I blogged HERE about the event around this time last year. Today I am sharing more pictures of events that have taken place in the last year or so and other swoon worthy white-wear!
Today marks the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. On this dream day, not only should we reflect on his dream, but we should reflect on our own.
What are your dreams?
How are you empowering your dreams to come true?
Think about the dreams you had 5, 10, 15 years ago.
Have some of them come true? Have they changed?
Pick today, this moment, to think about new dreams you might have.
What do you wish for yourself? Your loved ones? The world?
Dreams don't always have to be grandiose, they can be simple moments in your life. Many people can be dream cynics; that dreaming is a waste of time, not built in reality, etc.
Frankly, I don't know where I would be without dreaming! In addition to my life-long musings, I have been a day dreamer for as long as I can remember. I am the queen of disappearing into my own little thoughts, but instead of building a false reality, I think it helps me become a better person. I take my daydreams to teach me to be the best person I can be and I strive for that every day.
I hope you can realize that we live in such a wonderful world, and we have the capabilities to make it even better. What a beautiful foundation for a journey to begin. With the right people, faith, and positive motives, endless blessings can be in one's favor.
The best supplement to dream wishing and granting...is joy with your life and the world around you.
Not everything is perfect, but we have the power to react to our life in whichever way we choose.
Living a life of joy, happiness, gratitude, kindness, and faith can make dreams come true for you and the rest of the world.
Find that joy in your life and share it with others.
How fabulous is this outfit? With a spin on some of your wardrobe staples: summer white, leopard, and a blue blazer, you can create classic and fresh look as we wind down summer.
I love the simplicity of this cool and its dress-up, yet still casual outfit. You can be chic from day errands to weekend drinks.
And, the best part, some of these pieces are a total steal! Check out the tank, blazer, and sunglasses for sub $25 prices :)
A much as I love Instagram to stay posted about my friend's adventures, I also love it to see breathtaking pictures and get a splash of creative inspirations! I follow accounts ranging from Patagonia to National Geographic, Veranda to L.L.Bean, in addition to my favorite designers. I always enjoy when I come across a new account and donaldrawbertson is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The artist has a knack and fetish for illustrating the likes of design, flamingos, fashion, giraffes, haute couture, and high class. Take a look at some of my favorite illustrations below!
In addition to his whimsically delightful artwork, he captures other quirky and inspirational elements of his daily life.
If you're looking for a change to your insta-newsfeed, I would totally recommend this account!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and keep the creative energy alive this week :)
I am simply charmed by this Town & Country spread on a festive spin for fall trends. Not only do I love the bright colors, floral accessories, and divine gems...but I believe this is an incredibly innovative look for fall.
Typically, the fashionistas are swooning over every shade of oatmeal by this time of year. Now don't get me wrong, I adore a camel cashmere sweater just as much as the next person (and if you don't, you're missing out), but I am not ready for it yet!
Pre-fall fashions start hitting stores by mid-summer, but since when did pre-fall have to lose a color palette?
I love that Town & Country is encouraging colorful dress and bold statement jewels. It seems as though a typical spring theme of "fresh start" is making its way to the fall style guides, and I am all for it...because there are few better "fresh starts" than the beginning of a new school year, the start of fall, regrouping for committees/boards, and a final chance to ring out the year!
"Some would say that brights and florals are better suited for the springtime. But those are the same sort of people who would never dare to wear major jewels in broad daylight." -T&C
