C.Z. Guest

The 10 Lessons I Learned From My Mother, C.Z. Guest, by Cornelia Guest for Town & Country.

1. Manners - She taught me that manners are one of the most important things in life.
2. Your Handbag - My mother never carried a big bag, especially at night.
3. Stay Fit and In Shape - The two of us loved to walk and play tennis together.
4. Own Lots of Dogs - Dogs are great company, and always keep you laughing and smiling.
5. Learn How to Make a Great Bloody Mary
6. The Guest List - When hosting a party, always mix up the group you have invited - it makes it more fun.
7. Leaving a Party - You should always elegantly leave a party without breaking it up.
8. Chocolate Chip Cookies - One should always have chocolate chip cookies around.
9. Bring a Jacket - One should always be prepared. I never leave home without a jacket.
10. And Most of All, Remember to Laugh and Love - It keeps you young.

The Rare Bird - An Iris

"You're not pretty, you'll never be pretty, but you have something much better...you have style." - Mrs. Loehmann to Iris Apfel.

Debatably one of the most stylish women on the circuit today, Iris Apfel joins the ranks of Julia Child and Grandma Moses both of whom just kept getting better (and more popular) with age. She is a 93 year old style maven with a documentary, IRIS, that will be in select theaters April 29. The icon, with 75 years of influence of fashion and interiors, is a true artist. As quoted by the production company, "the documentary is a story about creativity and how, even at Iris' age, a soaring free spirit continues to inspire." She radiates an incomparable energy and, even just watching the trailer, you can truly feel a pulse of her excitement about living. "IRIS portrays a singular woman whose enthusiasm for fashion, art and people are life's sustenance and reminds us that dressing - and indeed life - is nothing but an experiment."

Trini González

At some point last summer I kept finding myself clicking 'like' on all of these similar, chic looks in my Instagram feed. I am not sure exactly how I came across Trini's Instagram account, but it has easily become one of my favorites for style inspiration!
Known for classic color schemes, timeless luxuries (Burberry, Chanel, Ferragamo), uptown statement pieces mixed with downtown basics, and no-fuss cosmetology (simple hair & little/no make-up); Trini's style is so effortless - rich details paired with graceful simplicity that will last for decades.
French chic meets Spanish streets.
