Spring Frocks

Happy Spring to everyone! 

I know it might not feel like it...but warmer days are officially on the horizon. 

With longer days, higher temps, and bright colors in the near future; I am in the mood for a new spring dress. I have been eyeing a couple of dresses lately and have been keeping them on my radar.

My mom and I both gave up shopping for Lent, and it has proven successful! Thankfully, I won't be in Paris until AFTER Easter :)

I am tickled pink... and all sorts of fabulous hues...with these dresses below. I am thinking they'd be perfect for a day at Keeneland, dinner & drinks on the patio, and a graduation weekend festivity or two.

Packing!

I am busy making a list of what I need to bring for my trip! Here are some absolutely must-haves for any European adventure, especially France in the spring time. 

I have basic staples that I wear all the time, regardless of the country I am residing, but I am going to throw them together in a truly Parisian chic way.

I love my Minnie pants from JCrew and I live in oversize (men's) button downs like this blue one from Ralph Lauren. Go to jackets are a trench or wax jacket, depending on the temperature. I add my standard gold bracelets and Persol sunglasses. Complete the look with a silk scarf and ballet flats!

To get me through my trip I will be using a Longchamp "weekender" style travel bag as the perfect carry-on (thanks Mads!) and an iPhone for pictures, directions, and much more!

Festive Friday

Happy Friday everyone! My birthday is tomorrow and I am so thrilled that some of my friends will be coming down to Cincinnati to celebrate. I am planning to wear an outfit similar to the one below (you have to be fabulous on your big day, right?)

Valentine's Wish List

It's the Valentine's countdown! I have always loved Valentine's today because it's the perfect way to pick-up those winter blues. Even though you don't have a Valentine's sweetie, you can enjoy it just the same. And trust me, this comes from experience, save for a few secret admirers a couple of years ago (honestly, the entire ordeal was far from ideal), I have been celebrating the holiday solo! 

Here's to treating yourself and ALL of those you love for this special holiday. So with that little inspiration burst, here's to a positively delightful upcoming week.

Matchbook was released this week and I was able to be in New York, for some reason it made it seem a little more exciting!

READ HERE. 

I returned yesterday from my two week adventure. Between spending time with friends and families, I was able to begin the job search with several interviews and meetings. I met a lot of wonderful people (and I hope at least some of them think I'm a little wonderful too). 

Since you know I am literally the worst at taking pictures, I don't have too many to show of my trip. One of my goals is to get more involved in the photography world...so perhaps more in the next couple of weeks?! In the meantime, here are a few snapshots!

I had a darling date with Kate Armour from Matchbook. We went to the Macaron cafe, absolutely divine, I ordered hot cocoa and vanilla, raspberry, and dark chocolate macarons. She snapped a pic of me in one of my silk scarves. Living out of one carry-on for two weeks was hard, but I made full use of my accessories...lots of scarves!

Go OWU lacrosse! I met with OWU alum & Goodman Media President, Tom, in NYC. We had to take a pic with his vintage Battling Bishop helmet. 

Had fun with kp in the city, crazy straw galore! love the color-pop.

Ski Trip Outfit

It's starting to flurry today in Philadelphia, so perfect time to look at ski-trip worthy attire. I am not a skier, in fact I have only been once. It wasn't the greatest experience...I could only turn right and my friend could only turn left. Our paths not only crossed, but collided. We were both fine as we laughed watching our skies slide down the rest of the slope. The ski lift didn't think things looked fine down below, so they stopped the entire lift and we had dozens of people ask us if we were okay. 

Maybe someday I will have a successful trip, but at least I know how to  be dressed for hot cocoa in the lodge. 

I head up to Connecticut today after a great couple of days with my friend Kelli and her mom in Philly.

we had an extraordinarily successful recruitment last weekend and i am loving the new members of kappa alpha theta, thank you for making me a proud recruitment chair!

as many of you might know, i finished school a semester early. i was back at school to run recruitment, but departed immediately after, to begin my next adventures. goodbyes are always hard and this was no different. for all of my dear owu friends: until next time. prepare for a celebratory graduation week in may!

Pantone's color of the year is Emerald. I guess it's only fitting to start of the new year in the right hue, so I explored some of the best emerald products I could find.

Holiday Look

Sorry for the late post today...I was too busy celebrating that the world didn't end :)

I have been all for wearing bright colors this holiday season. Turquoise and pink have been staples...but I love this pop of blue. 

Wear a basic black base: top, tights, and a skirt fit for twirling. Add some color in your accessories, like I suggested with the blue details. A little but of sparkle on your feet makes for a festive touch!

Celebrate Colorfully

Tomorrow night is the last event of my college career that I am chairing.

President's Ball, the annual holiday celebration open to the entire campus community, is going to fabulous!

The theme is Celebrate Colorfully (can you tell I am in charge?) and we have coordinated everything to have a festive touch. 

The decorations consist of: pink poinsettias, large christmas trees with sparkly lights and glitter bows, luminaries, brightly wrapped packages, and a lighting company providing the perfect pops of color and a demure draping effect. 

We will be have an array of food including chocolate fountains, festive punch, and more appetizers than I can begin to list. In addition to the food, entertainment will include a live jazz band, DJ, and graffiti wall which functions as an interactive photo booth. 

Here is the outfit I will be debuting, with plenty of colorful outfit inspiration photos as well.
