Saint Laurent Booties

It's been a hectic few months for me work-wise and, unfortunately, I've had to put the blog on the back-burner. While I am not sure whether or not this is totally the 'light at the end of the tunnel,' it is hopefully close enough to sunnier skies...and I am going to start posting again! I can't guarantee a routine posting schedule, but hopefully little dashes of inspiration here-and-there; a New Year's resolution for 2015!
The Super Bowl half-time show performer Katy Perry sported a pair of silver glitter boots last night. Rarely do I find style inspiration from Top 40 artists, but her sparkly shoes reminded me of one of my fall foot fetishes.
Saint Laurent made a fabulous collection of glitter footwear that would have been a far more chic - from Twirling Clare standards - alternate for Katy Perry to have sported. In addition to the glitter booties, there are knee highs, mary janes, and chelsea boot options. The price tag, at approximately $1,000 a pair, reflects how really quite fantastic and ridiculous they are.
But, if you can afford to splurge...

If you're like me and are in the ballpark of 'appreciating from afar,' enjoy these pics. Toodles!

New Year's Eve Sparkle

Some of you may have noticed my style lookbook on the right side of my blog. I try and change the options twice a month focusing on a particular theme. Since it's holiday celebration season, I have featured some of my favorite sequin and sparkle gear.
Below are some select picks...in case you need inspiration to be glitter-y this weekend and Monday evening (NYE!)
Dress up the world with a little bit of sparkle, toodles!

The biggest party of the Year!

Happy New Year's Eve everyone! As promised, I have returned in time to provide you with inspirations for this celebratory evening. My family and I enjoyed a wonderful trip visiting my Dad's side of the family in DC for a couple of days and then escaping for the last half of the week to the Savage River Lounge for an incredibly relaxing few days. With no technology and cabin-style living (class A wood cabins nonetheless) we were able to have bonding time with each other and the beautiful natural surroundings. The slight dusting of snow along the trails was a perfect touch.

Enough of my travels, here we are off to find inspiration for New Year's Eve! I hope 2011 brought much joy and happiness to all of you, even though life brings difficulties and challenges, the start of a new day...a new year provides much hope for success and promise for good things to happen! As we close this year, let's do so on a happy note. There is no excuse to relish in the past year's sorrows or enter into the winter blues, where will that get you? So whether or not you are staying in with a friend or loved one or partying out on the town...have a glass of champagne (and PLEASE in a champagne flute, be festive people!), make a wish or two, and cherish the night of sparkles, thrill, and celebration for new beginnings!

The 'It' Shoe by Brown Eyed Belle

(Image via Belle of the Ball)

Hello, lovely readers!

I'm Julie, author of the life and style blog Brown Eyed Belle. When Clare invited me over today to share a post with her readers I was incredibly excited and flattered. Clare and I have only been acquainted a short time but are truly kindred spirits when it comes to our love for beautiful inspirations- especially those that sparkle!

So, when I was brainstorming ideas for this post I couldn't think of any better feature than the sparkly Miu Miu peep toe booties that we've been seeing (literally) everywhere this season. They truly just make me squeal with delight!

If I owned a pair, I'm certain that I would cook breakfast (lunch and dinner), brush my teeth, and do laundry in them! Oh, the possibilities!

XoXo,
Julie
