Need the time?

My aunt got me a Slap Watch for Christmas and I've been sporting it the past couple of weeks, it is fabulous!
It functions just like those slap bracelets that were popular a couple of decades ago, but this time it has an added feature...a time piece! I had never heard of them before I received it last month, but I must have just been out-of-the-loop because they are quite the must have.
Have you heard of the accessory trend??

The best thing about slap watches is that the bands are all interchangable! Simply pop out the watch face and choose your favorite color of the day to sport on your wrist!

I have the zebra stripe, with the pink face...I feel so trendy wearing it around :) I love that face and am thinking of buying a solid white band to go with it, for now the tribal look is doing just fine!

Winter Pop of Crystal Blue

About a month ago I did a post on Winter Pop of Color featuring Pink! I decided to keep the feature going throughout the winter and today, I am focusing on Blue! There are so many shades of blue, so for today's post I chose Crystal Blue (the shade of the Madewell flats I got for Christmas!) It's always important to stay warm in the winter months, but I think it's just as important to look fabulous as well!
Here are some of my winter suggestions for a pop of Crystal Blue!!

Best Foot Forward

"The perfect shoes can ground a look & light the soul".
Have you ever built an outfit shoes first?? That was the task this week...and here's my creation!
Best Foot Forward

I am loving these Kate Spade heels, so fabulous! I paired them with a patterned J.Crew dress, cream and black. Solid black tights tone the outfit down. I limited jewelry to statement earrings (in purple to correspond with shoes). Throw a festive clutch in a bright contrasting color and you look like a million bucks!

Kate Spade Linette (purple $201 5.5 & 9) (black $288)

Happy Friday!

the snood

I have always been a fan of scarves, particularly pashminas. I own over a dozen in all of the colors of the rainbow...I love, love scarves. You can NEVER have too many!
For Christmas, I received a snood from my aunt. A snood is a variation of a neck scarf, a tubular style...without any openings, you simply lift it over your head to take it on or off (no tying required!)
The term snood has existed for centuries most commonly referred to as a hairnet, typically the color would be the closest possible to the wearer's hair color. In some cultures snoods were a wide ribbon worn in the hair of a young maiden to distinguish her marital status.
Nowadays, snoods are a fashion trend and perfect for keeping one's neck nice and toasty for the winter months!
