Interior color blocking

Bring the fashion trend of the moment to your home!

If you are hesitant to make too big of a statement, I have a Do It Yourself project just for you. Create your own color blocking work of art. Buy a canvas board and painting supplies, you chose the size and the colors (the bolder the better). Spend an afternoon with your painting clothes on and find your inner artist! I would recommend painting your colors in horizontal strips, separate with tape to ensure straight lines.
Hang up in a room to add a pop of color for a short-term interior inspiration or long-term decorating staple.

Date Night

Happy Weekend!
Today's Friday's Fancies theme is Date Night. I love the summer vibe of this outfit with all of the fun colors. Who would have ever thought that yellow, teal, and orange could look so good together? Keeping white and gold as foundation pieces provide the appropriate amount of contrast to the bright colors, calming the outfit down.
This outfit is perfect for any type of gathering throughout the next couple of months. I would wear it to an outdoor party, dinner and drinks, or a morning brunch. All of the pieces are incredibly versatile and can last for the years to come.

I can't believe I only have 10 more days left of school...time is flying! This weekend is busy, busy for me. I will be spending the afternoon in downtown Columbus hearing Mitt Romney speak with the Governor of Ohio. This evening I am going to a fraternity formal, I will be wearing a black and white paisley print dress with a "pop of color" in the shoes. Tomorrow night we have formal for my sorority. I will be wearing a pink dress and black and white wedges, I'll be sure to post pics after the events.

Toodles!

What I'm Loving

I know it has been awhile since I have made one of these posts, but I am excited to start back once again, sharing some of the things that I am loving now!

This will allow you to catch a glimpse into my life...and all of the little things inspiring me.

The perfect bubbly for a festive and fun weekend!

A charming activity for a windy, spring day.

Spring outfit...just a dash of leopard and the perfect accessory, a flower!

My big, Maddy, who will be graduating shortly.

I know this is so bizarre, but I have a secret obsession with Flo Rida and I am loving his newest hit!

The festive and colorful Kate Spade Charm totes. I have the green "Be Jeweled" bag.

Maddie's Maukingbirds

One of my closest friends at school has Cystic Fibrosis.  Cystic fibrosis is the most prevalent genetic disease in the United States. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now - more than ever - to help keep up the momentum of this lifesaving research.

Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fundraising event. This year, I'm walking in the Great Strides event on May 5th. Please help me meet my fundraising goal of $500.00 by donating to Maddie's cause.

Maddie has made my college years so extraordinary and I am thankful everyday that I am able to be friends with her and I hope that our friendship will continue in the years to come. I am walking for Maddie on Saturday, May 5th in honor of her team, Maddie's Maukingbirds. I would really appreciate as much support as you can give in honor of Maddie and CF!

Just click on this link to make a donation to my fundraising page.

Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated!

I would be honored if you could help out in the cause by either making a donation or sharing this page with others.

Spring Fling from Design Shuffle

Hello, everyone! It's Mari here from Design Shuffle, a fabulous social networking site for interior designers and design lovers from around the world. Being a writer for Design Shuffle allows me to visit great blogs like Twirling Clare as a guest blogger. Today's post is all about decorating ideas for spring vignettes. Spring is my favorite times of the year—perhaps because everything feels so fresh and new. Ever notice how intensely green the new growth on grass, plants and trees looks? As for decorating with vignettes, how quick and easy is it to make rooms feel refreshed by arranging or rearranging favorite decorative pieces, and yes fresh flowers, into lovely little collections? Here are eight ideas to inspire you to create your own spring vignettes.

Enjoy!

Spring Vignette Living Room Design
What every formal space needs—a spring vignette with fresh flowers in an unexpected container, a big fat clear glass jug. I'm thinking those are art, architecture or interior design books all ready for browsing.

Spring Vignette Dining Room Design
From gorgeously formal, we turn to appealingly casual. This living space with two delicate chandeliers has been dressed up for spring with tabletop vignettes in blue—one with pink blooming branches and one with yellow daffodils.

Spring Vignette Design
This large tabletop vignette is a beautiful way to transition from winter into spring. How lovely this would look in a foyer, living room, dining room or bedroom design

Spring Vignette Afternoon Tea Party Design
It must be a party or perhaps this colorful vignette was created for a family brunch to celebrate the coming of spring. Whatever the occasion, it shows off lots of ingenious decorative details.

Spring Vignette Design
Another celebration of springtime, this slightly rustic vignette is filled with favorite objects, written words and organic elements. What signifies the change of seasons more eloquently than the iconic spring blooming bush, the sunny Forsythia?

  Spring Vignette Powder Room Design
A spring vignette that includes cut flowers is a perfect way to freshen up any bathroom designs. It's a lovely way to pamper family or overnight guests.

Spring Vignette Kitchen Room Design
This gorgeous kitchen has been turned into one enormous spring vignette with fresh flowers and lovely touches of turquoise. Can't you just taste that refreshing beverage? What an appealing color it is.

Spring Vignette Flower Design
Sometimes a vignette can be taken to a whole new level by the background against which it is set. Isn't this a beautiful way to enhance an already stunning bouquet? Add favorite found objects and you have spring vignette perfection.

These Spring Vignette inspirations are absolutely gorgeous! Be sure to check out San Francisco interior designers and Atlanta interior designers for more inspirations so that you can be ready to decorate and implement Spring design ideas for your home decor!
