pillow fight!

Feeling a little sleepy today...and wishing we had made it beyond Tuesday; alas, no such luck! So to get me up this morning, I found a collection of images of 'pillow fights'. Not that I'd like to be woken up with a pillow flung in my face, but the pictures do make it seem somewhat enjoyable!

Irish Knit

Since it's 40 degrees this morning...I thought it was quite the appropriate time for this post!

Your distant aunt, Muffy, might be the common link you have with the preppy wardrobe staple, Irish knit sweaters, but I have a couple of inspirations to show you how to pull of the look without a light house by the East Coast "Atlantic Ocean" in the background! 

These sweaters are making quite a dent in the fashion books for this upcoming season and I am all for the look! Here are some looks that are perfect 'transitional' outfits as we make our way into fall. The sweater is absolutely timeless and if you have trouble finding it online, I am sure you'd come across it in a family members closet or antique shopping!!

Even though there are many 'hipster cool' ways to play off the look...I am always up for the wind-swept hair, a down vest, khakis, and bean boots with collection of gold bangles on the wrist, Preppy Handbook anyone?!

This look is totally one that my roommate would sport!

Fall is the busiest time of the year for me with planning and coordinating events! I feel like I spend all of my time running back and forth from meeting to meeting. It's fun and I love being involved and staying busy...although it can easily get a bit overwhelming. So for those "crazy" days, here is a little craft project you can work on (when/if you have a breather...if not, that's why boutique stores exist) that can make your crazy work load a little less stressful and give you something to smile about!

Here are a collection of clip boards, so practical for the work force, especially if you are busy planning events like me! They are relatively inexpensive to buy and SO much fun to dress up. With a little bit of wrapping paper or scrapbook paper, some stickers, markers, bows, or whatever arts and craft tool you find at Michael's it's easy to whip up your own personalized clip board!

Maybe writing a little inspirational quote will help be the perfect words of wisdom you need on the hectic days! Here's to staying calm, er well at least a little more colorful during the meeting rush!
