pink maxi skirt

I treated myself to a hot pink maxi skirt this summer and I wore it this past weekend! I love the bright color and it was the perfect look for my weekend celebrations.
Which styling below is your favorite?

I was announced as the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi this past weekend. I sported my pink maxi skirt...here are some shots of my look:

The West Wing

It's the election season! I am a politics & government major and this time of the year is always an exciting one. One of the few television shows that I consistently enjoyed watching was The West Wing. Before going to college, I became obsessed with show. My dad and I would watch episode after episode during the summers. I could watch them multiple times, and I would still learn something new. It was a "smart" show, with a phenomenal cast, and I wish such shows graced the television more often.
C.J., as played by Allison Janney, is one of my favorite characters of ALL time. Allison Janney did a wonderful job as an actress and I adored so many aspects of C.J. and her role as Press Secretary. She was a power woman, a feminist icon, and an independent spirit.

Regardless of your political leanings (and believe me...my family would probably not be President Bartlett's biggest fans) it is a PHENOMENAL show. And a great way to engage you in the political scene, especially at this time of the year.

Toodles!!

beautiful bobs

I have a hair cut this afternoon, which I am looking forward to. I have always had short hair and am looking forward to a fresh trim. I have still not decided if I should go for a shorter bob like the images below, or just stick with my classic "longer" bob look.
Nevertheless, I am loving these cute cuts...and maybe they'll inspire you for a different hairstyle! Because fall fashion, doesn't have to just mean your wardrobe, switching up your hair cut can work just as well!

Also, to remember 9/11, here is a lovely write-up from Project Rebirth, an organization that I featured last year.

"The years teach much, which the days never know" - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reflecting on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we can see now how the years have taught us to cope with the horror of the day and its aftermath. And we can see how people work to create good out of the most horrific acts. The mission of Proj
ect Rebirth is to record the amazing resilience of the human spirit, and to help share that resilience in ways that will help people and communities deal better with future disasters. Our film "Rebirth" is at work towards this aim. Our nine short films and immersive exhibit for the 9/11 Memorial and Museum are almost complete and our team is in cities around the country working with veterans, active military, first responders, educators, health care professionals and others who serve our country and communities. Advancing our pilot programs into scalable programming will make a real difference in the lives of professionals and organizations that respond to disasters. This is how we're honoring 9/11.

We can learn from the disasters that we can never forget. Please share this message if you want to help spread the message of our work.

glasses crush

I have never had glasses (despite my assorted collection of sunglasses). In fact, sight has been the one sense that I have never had issue with. Nevertheless, I have always had a minor attraction to eye wear. There was a time in grade school where I purposely lied on my sight test, at the chance I'd be able to get glasses...the eye doctor eventually discovered that it was a fib.
I am incredibly grateful for my strong vision, but that doesn't mean that I can't have a little eye wear crush!

What I Wear, Back to School

When I am in school, I gravitate to this sort of style. I love white jeans, and will wear them as long as I can. Button downs (linen when the weather is warm) are a perfect look, classic and effortless. And you all know that I am such a sunglass and gold jewelry queen!
