Framing scarves

I have been on an interior decorating kick the past couple of days. I keep thinking of how I would design a home (despite the fact I am only occupying a bedroom, bathroom and closet in my parents' home...) and have been experiencing homeowner wanderlust, toying around with different colors, fabrics, patterns, etc.
Sometimes I think of redecorating actual houses I've been in, other times I'll just spot a chair, painting or another statement piece and then build a room around that accessory. For example, I spotted a fabulous silk scarf while I was on an online shopping binge the other day and spent nearly my entire lunch hour walk yesterday thinking of how I could frame it and then decorate an entire living room incorporating the scarf. Just in case you were wondering, it would be totally spectacular :)
I think it's always fun to have space in your day for creative musings and even if it's playing interior decorator with a silk scarf, so be it. Clearly I wasn't that far off in my idea of wall art, as these fantastic interiors all incorporate framed scarves!

Hermès Twilly

As a farewell gift, my boss gave me a beautiful Hermès Twilly. The pattern of my silk scarf matches the color scheme in the first image below (isn't it lovely?!) - stay tuned to my Instagram for a picture of my my new accessory!
The Twilly is a petite Hermes scarf, the perfect accessory to subtly add a splash to your outfits. You can tie around your neck as little neck tie, add to a handbag, weave through your hair, loop around your wrist - and many more! See the guide below of different Twilly tie ideas - I will probably wear on my wrist for most occasions.
At $180, it's still a pricy accessory, but far more reasonable than other Hermes scarves, some of which are thousands of dollars, like Les Leopards Oiseaux Fleuris.
Even if you won't be buying a Hermès anytime soon, I still recommend exploring their website
Last year they expertly crafted a new online shop and it's utterly divine!

La Maison des Carrés

The new address for silk scarves : La Maison des Carrés

Hermés launched the most delightfully wonderful website devoted to their legendary silk scarves.  Designed by illustrator Pierre Marie (a former Hermés scarf designer) and artistic director, Bali Barret, the site takes you on a whimsical journey into the house of scarves. The fantastic virtual home includes a salon, treasure chamber, color-mixing kitchen, horse stable, cinema, and more. Barret explains the site as, "Both an online store offering an exceptionally broad range of our collection, and a place of delightful, constantly evolving experiences, lamaisondescarres.com tells the story of Hermés silk in an entertaining and unconventional way."

Additionally, Hermés launched Silk Knots, an app that teaches you how to style your scarf in elegant and stylish ways. See the sample video below.

While I may not have a Hermés, I am still going to have a fashionably delightful time perusing their website and learning how to tying my scarves the truly trés chic way(s)!
Toodles
