lamp shades

Occasions by kate spade:
The hands on the clock are hitting Hour #6 at a cocktail party, the tarts have long since disappeared, and the candles are just stubs. Out of the corner of your eye, you realize that a lampshade has just become someone's party hat. Does this mean the party's over?
Sometimes even the plainest "cues" don't work on those guests who have crossed the line from partygoers to party stayers. If people are still enjoying themselves, then do your tired best to keep smiling. But once the décor becomes someone else's wardrobe, by all means call it quits.

Such a notorious sign of boisterous and boozy party guests, I think there is still a playful and whimsical element to lampshade décor. I have never twirled around in a lampshade...I think with my lack-of-balance, ensuring I can at least have open eyes is probably quite crucial.
Despite the negative connotation, I think these pictures depict a festive and fun atmosphere.
In fact, I think it's like the party King and Queen's crown.
If your goofy accessory is well-received...lamp shade hair might be a new thing.

Happy weekend, toodles!

Repetto

Only the most PERFECT ballet flats in the entire world.
I am so grateful I work at a boutique so I can treat myself every now and then to the store's beautiful items! My most recent investment are Repetto ballet flats (in cork and black). They are très chic and I feel like a ballerina whenever I wear them.
In addition to footwear, the line also sells professional ballet attire (shoes, leotards, and tutus) and ballerina-esque fashions for tiny dancer in us all.
Enjoy the most twirl worth shoes yet, toodles!

pink blooms

I just treated myself to an absolutely fabulous (yet probably unnecessary) pink floral ball gown! It might be a maxi skirt in most of your eyes...but to me it is truly ball gown worthy. I am literally in LOVE  and can't wait to wear it out and about it!

Right now, my biggest muse is this stunning woman who was snapped by The Satorialist. I don't think I could pull off the fedora...but everything else about the look is simply DIVINE.

giraffe

"I know it sounds weird, but I just have a thing for giraffes. I got to wondering if you could own a giraffe, and if so, how much would a giraffe cost?"
-Kellie Pickler

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, toodles!

melon burst

The weather the past few days has been simply miraculous! The cooler temps have been divine and brought me back to some "spring" color inspirations. As our dinners have been filled with honeydews, watermelons and fruits galore....I was inspired by the color scheme AND the wonderful weather to create a summer does spring look.
Look polished for work and beyond, take a spin at an upcoming wedding, or stun the crowd at mass (you totally deserve brunch after), needless to say, this outfit has all the bases covered.
Hope you have a fabulous day, toodles!

PS-totally just treated myself to the repettos featured below (joys of working at a boutique!)

A Summer Home in the Hamptons

I came across this feature in Veranda Magazine (one of my favorites!) and had to share this charming summer getaway. The home, located in the Hamptons, is host to an array of eclectic expression in its interiors. Ranging from bright florals to subdue backgrounds, tribal patterns and plenty of fresh light...there is something about this display that has me entranced.
This photo shoot captures a bit of the outdoor living area along with the interior decorating.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I ddi!

country summer

To me, few things say summer better than country music. When I was driving with my dad the other day, a country music station was on the radio. He asked me if I listened to country music and I responded, "only in the summer". For some reason, as the temps heat up, nothing sounds sweeter to my ears than the country music! I could listen to the tunes for hours and I have to admit that I am quite envious of the whiskey sipping, truck bed dancing, fire-fly lit summer nights.
Even if I won't be weaving on a country road in a old ford pick-up drinking moonshine...it leaves me envisioning a pure, carefree, and perfect picture of summer evenings in the country south.
As the weekend kicks off and if thumbing your way down to North Carolina doesn't seem to meet the itinerary, let this playlist give you a little southern exposure and escape to those dream-worthy summer nights.

Here are my favorite songs this summer:
