jazz days

Tonight I am going to a Jazz Night concert in Hyde Park Square with my Grandpa! It should be a lovely evening and I am looking forward to the tunes. As I was doing some research on Jazz Days I came across the Governor's Island annual event, the Jazz Age Dance Party.

The Jazz Age Dance Party

The dance party happens every summer on Governor's Island in New York. The Island hosts a plethora cultural, arts, and recreational activities throughout the summer season. The Island offers public access during the weekends from May 27-September 25, including Holiday Mondays. One of their large events is the Jazz Age Dance Party. This year the party will be held on Saturday and Sunday July 25-26 from 11am - 5 pm. Michael Arenella and the Dreamland Orchestra will be presenting the party. The event whisks you back to the 1920s for an afternoon filled with live music and dance, games and picnics, and instructional dance for the time period. This is a fun fun event that can be enjoyed by the entire family!

Those that are in close proximity to Governor's Island can pay $7 in advance or $10 when you arrive, for the weekend 1920's throwback!
