riva aquarama

The pleasurecraft of choice.

As explained in Town & Country, the Riva was launched in 1842 by Petro Riva when he began building boats in Sarnico, a small town on the shores of Lago d'isco in northern Italy. The heyday of the brand came in the 1950s and 1960s when Pietro's great-grandson, Carlo, turned the Riva boats into luxury icons through his focus on craftsmanship and the most minute of details. The world's most glamorous took notice, as the yachts were snatched up by Hollywood royalty.
Even today, these jewels preserve intact all of the charm of that time, made of paparazzi, movie stars wearing foulards and glamorous sunshades, celebrity love stories, luxury and timeless elegance.

C.Z. Guest

The 10 Lessons I Learned From My Mother, C.Z. Guest, by Cornelia Guest for Town & Country.

1. Manners - She taught me that manners are one of the most important things in life.
2. Your Handbag - My mother never carried a big bag, especially at night.
3. Stay Fit and In Shape - The two of us loved to walk and play tennis together.
4. Own Lots of Dogs - Dogs are great company, and always keep you laughing and smiling.
5. Learn How to Make a Great Bloody Mary
6. The Guest List - When hosting a party, always mix up the group you have invited - it makes it more fun.
7. Leaving a Party - You should always elegantly leave a party without breaking it up.
8. Chocolate Chip Cookies - One should always have chocolate chip cookies around.
9. Bring a Jacket - One should always be prepared. I never leave home without a jacket.
10. And Most of All, Remember to Laugh and Love - It keeps you young.

Fall cover-ups ala Paris

Happy Fall!! I know I am a little behind on posting, but I hope you have been enjoying the start of the season as much as I have. I LOVE fall and the weather has been wonderful so far. I have had so much fun experimenting with transitional wear and am excited to bring out my fall attire.
I just have to share this spread from Town & Country on the perfect fall outerwear. I would be absolutely smitten to have even just one of these coats in my closet. I am particularly obsessed with the tangerine coat and the dynamite patent leather cape...I mean the whole outfit is just incredible!
Which look below is your favorite?
Does this put you in the fall mood??

Town & Country : Florals (and Jewels) for Fall

I am simply charmed by this Town & Country spread on a festive spin for fall trends. Not only do I love the bright colors, floral accessories, and divine gems...but I believe this is an incredibly innovative look for fall.
Typically, the fashionistas are swooning over every shade of oatmeal by this time of year. Now don't get me wrong, I adore a camel cashmere sweater just as much as the next person (and if you don't, you're missing out), but I am not ready for it yet!
Pre-fall fashions start hitting stores by mid-summer, but since when did pre-fall have to lose a color palette?
I love that Town & Country is encouraging colorful dress and bold statement jewels. It seems as though a typical spring theme of "fresh start" is making its way to the fall style guides, and I am all for it...because there are few better "fresh starts" than the beginning of a new school year, the start of fall, regrouping for committees/boards, and a final chance to ring out the year!

"Some would say that brights and florals are better suited for the springtime. But those are the same sort of people who would never dare to wear major jewels in broad daylight." -T&C

Toodles!
